The Don Besaw Space Library

The McCarthy Observatory has a very comprehensive lending library of well over 400 books on space-related topics. Subjects include the solar system, each of our planets and the sun, galaxies, nebulae, comets, asteroids, stars, the universe,the search for life elsewhere,  astronomy history, new discoveries, astrophysics, telescope making, mirror making, celestial imaging and image processing, and many more.

In addition, there is a reference library of important current year astronomical data that supports research in many areas.

The library is named in honor of Don Besaw, a longtime member of the Observatory staff who was the passionate overseer of this excellent library.
