The McCarthy Observatory relies on the dedication and enthusiasm of its staff of volunteers who work tirelessly toward fulfilling our mission of encouraging science literacy. These staff member donate their time support visitors at many levels, from advanced mentoring in many topics and specialized projects, to hosting many large community events to the basics of how to operate the wide variety of equipment at the facility. It is through their efforts that the McCarthy Observatory has established itself as a significant educational and recreational resource within the western Connecticut community.
