WCCSAS Hosts Leonid Meteor Shower at JJMO

The Western Connecticut Chapter of the Society for Amateur Scientists hosted a star party on November 17-18 at the observatory. More than 800 people visited the facility and took advantage of opportunities to view planets, galaxies and nebulae during the evening hours, followed by an ideal viewing opportuity to view the Leonid meteor shower. At its peak between 5am and 6am there were more than 750 meteors per hour observed.
